Rev. Gregory L. Johnson
Senior Advisor To The President/CEO
And
Divisional Executive Vice President
International Alliance of Family Caregivers
Over the past 25 years, Rev. Gregory Johnson has received U.S. national and international acclaim as a health care professional, leader in Family Caregiving, musician, business entrepreneur, and an Ordained Inter-faith Minister for his duties in the service of others. As stated by the Straits Times of Singapore, The qualities that best describe Greg Johnson and which have earned him this exciting and diverse career are Leadership, Creativity, Enthusiasm and Vision. In every aspect of his broad and expansive areas of operation and expertise Greg has sought and found possibilities where they were least likely to be found, created them where none had hitherto existed. At all times he celebrated the SYNERGY of OPPORTUNITY and POSSIBILITIES. His innovative ideas, supported by substantive action, have produced enormously successful results.
Ordained in 2002 as an Interfaith Minister Greg served for many years leading Prayer Circle and sharing his knowledge of family caregiving as a Pastoral Counselor at the Marble Collegiate Church, New York City (N.Y.C.). As a family caregiver himself, Greg founded EmblemHealth’s Care for the Family Caregiver initiative and served as the chief advisor to the CEO for family caregiving for 25 years. In these roles he served as a speaker, author, lecturer, and retreat leader for family caregiving. In particular, he was an invited presenter at the 2005 White House Conference on Aging and at the 2014 National Conference on Aging which was held in Washington, D.C. He was also an invited speaker at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and served as a partner with the Medical Center and the Perper Foundation involving family caregiver events held in NYC and in Baltimore. Greg also serves on the United Nation NGO COMMITTEE ON AGING and other nongovernmental organizations. In 2023, Rev. Johnson addressed the International Federation on Ageing’s Global Conference held in Bangkok, Thailand. His paper, It Takes Our All …. It Takes Us All was well received and is being published by request internationally.
Rev. Johnson was the founder and Executive Chair of the New York City Partnership for Family Caregiving Corps which focused on family caregiving costs to corporate America. He also founded the N.Y.C. Family Caregiver Coalition and served as a participant in the 2017 Indonesian Diaspora Conference on Family held in Jakarta, Indonesia at which President Barak Obama was the keynote speaker. Among his other international family caregiving activities, Greg serves as a family caregiving advisor for many of the ASEAN nations where he helps by initiating grass-roots programs and the use of FAMILY CAREGIVING as the vehicle for inter-faith dialogue and UNITY IN DIVERSTIY FOCUS. He has presented, performed, and spoken in many cities and countries, including but not limited to: Japan, Cebu, Manila, Hong Kong, China, Canton, Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Jogjakarta, Singapore, Bali, Agra, Jaipur Delhi, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Istanbul, Rome, London, Paris and Cape Town.
More recently, Greg Johnson founded the Greg Johnson Partnerships International, Inc. where he serves as President and CEO. Greg Johnson Partnership International is in truth an “encore” uniting caring and commerce, where east meets west, presenting new avenues of synergy, marketing, creating and sharing new opportunities between cultures worldwide, truly finding and celebrating unity in diversity. This “Marketing Synergism” truly embodies Greg’s lifelong philosophy: To contribute in all that I do to fulfilling the need for people all over the world to discover their similarities and to come to accept their differences without being threatened. Also in 2023, he founded the Sahaja Foundation in Bali. A pilot project was launched with the focus of bringing family caregiving to the over 17,000 islands of Indonesia. Lacking Wi-Fi in all but a few islands, it took Greg’s understanding of the Indonesian healthcare system, the culture and the goals of family caregiving to create a program honoring each aspect …… and moving everyone one step closer to CARE and ONENESS THROUGH FAMILY CAREGIVING.
In addition to Rev. Johnson’s U.S. national and international activities he is the author of many books and booklets including: Peace, Be Still: Prayers and Affirmations for Family Caregivers (Co-Authored with Rev. Marion A. Gambardella); Called to Care (co-authored with Dr. W.D. Hale, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center), and Care for the Family Caregiver; A Place to Start which was written for the 2005 White House Conference on Aging (Co-Authored with Gail Gibson Hunt from the National Alliance on Caregiving ) and now is available in the 4th edition in English, Chinese, and Spanish.
Rev. Gregory Johnson is a fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine, and is the recipient of numerous city/state, U.S. national and international awards and honors, including: Lifetime Achievement Awards from Friends in Deed, New York State, and the Healthcare Chaplaincy Network, respectively. Ambassador Johnson currently serves as the Divisional Executive Vice President, International Alliance of Family Caregivers, and as the Senior Advisor to the President and CEO of the Caregiver Coalition Fund of America.
