On February 26, 2020, John F. Wayne suddenly passed away.  On September 18, 2021, in recognition for his

long time service to the Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission as Executive Director, the Commission held

The John F. Wayne Horse Racing Integrity Tribute Race. At the Race, the Caregiver Coalition Fund of America's

Chairman of the Board, Frank Mitchel Corso Jr., J.D. presented to the Delaware Racing Park and to the

John F. Wayne family a Citation in recogniation of Mr. Wayne's commitment and dedication as a member of the

Board of Directors of the Caregiver Coalition Fund of America, and to the quality of life to the people of the 

State of New York and throughout the United States.
