Empowering Family Caregivers

At some point during everyone’s life it is likely they will become a family caregiver and the role is often unexpectedly thrust upon them.    Many people become caregivers with little knowledge or understanding about the complex roles of being a caregiver.   How do they manage their time? Where do they seek help to meet the needs of their care-recipients?  How do they meet their own needs?  To answer these and other questions, the Caregiver Coalition Fund of America (CareCFA) has launched Care Communities.

Membership in Care Communities is complimentary to caregivers and features:

• Caregiver Empowerment Support Groups, which are bi-weekly virtual discussion sessions designed to promote caregiver empowerment;
• optional Care Buddy one-to-one support;
• webinars and online caregiver courses;
• “Members only” online and live events;
• CareCFA’s newsletter Spotlight;
• access to products and services provided by vetted businesses and nonprofit organizations.

When joining the Care Community, it is important for caregivers to know:

• provided information is encrypted and secured;
• information will not be sold or given to any third-party business or organization;
• no personal identifying information will be used by CareCFA;
• CareCFA may conduct analyses from provided information to understand caregiver needs and to develop programs and services to better serve caregivers.
